What this feature is for
The Website screen is where you manage your restaurant's public website from inside SpicyChef. Each restaurant has exactly one website, and everything you change here — pages, content, media, and domains — is prepared before it reaches your visitors.
Who can use it
The website builder is for Owners and Admins. Staff and Viewers do not have access to website management.
Availability and required module/permission
The Website dashboard requires the Website module. Opening the dashboard and reading its status needs the view permission; making changes needs the matching edit, publish, or domain permissions.
Prerequisites
No special restaurant configuration is required to open the dashboard. You simply need the Website module active on your restaurant and an Owner or Admin role.
Common tasks
- Open the dashboard: go to Website to see your site's status and draft.
- Review before going live: edits are saved to a draft, so you can prepare changes safely.
- Publish when ready: the public site updates only after a successful publish.
Buttons and statuses
The dashboard shows whether you have unpublished draft changes and when the site was last published. A draft is always separate from what visitors currently see.
Warnings and important constraints
Editing affects a draft only. Your public website does not change until you publish, and disabling the module hides its content without deleting your work.
Troubleshooting guidance
If your visitors do not see a recent change, confirm that you published the draft — saving alone never updates the live site.
