What this feature is for

The Content, Media, Design, and Pages screens let you edit what your website says and shows. You fill in validated text and images inside a chosen template; you never edit template code. Media you upload — photos and files — belongs only to your restaurant.

Who can use it

Editing content and managing media is for Owners and Admins. Staff and Viewers cannot change website content.

Availability and required module/permission

These screens require the Website module and the edit permission. Reading this article is never gated, but saving changes needs edit access.

Prerequisites

Blog, Offers, and Events may be locked separately from the Website module. A locked feature stays visible with “This feature is not available to you.” but does not show content, counts, or editing actions. Gallery, Legal, Media, and the rest of the Website builder remain available with the base Website module. Ask your SpicyChef administrator if the restaurant needs access; Website Owners and Admins cannot change subscriptions themselves.

Your site uses a template that defines which pages, sections, and fields you can edit. Shared content such as the reservation call-to-action, contact details, and opening hours has one canonical source, so it stays consistent everywhere it appears.

Common tasks

Edit page content: open Content or Pages and update the fields the template exposes.
Adjust the look: use Design to change the template's presentation options.
Manage assets: open Media to upload or reuse restaurant-scoped photos and files.

Buttons and statuses

Content changes are saved into your draft, not the live site. The media library shows which assets are in use so you can tell them apart from unused uploads.

Warnings and important constraints

An asset that is in use cannot be silently deleted. Shared sections like contact and hours update everywhere at once, so a single edit affects every page that shows them.

Troubleshooting guidance

If a field you expect is missing, it is likely not part of your current template. If you cannot delete a media file, check whether a page still references it.
