Understand Floor Plan statuses

What this feature is for

The Floor Plan shows every room, space, and table with a live status so you can read the state of service at a glance and know which tables are free, busy, or being prepared.

Who can use it

Owners, Admins, and Staff can act on tables from the Floor Plan. Viewers can open the plan and read statuses but cannot make changes.

Availability and required module/permission

The Floor Plan is available with either the Booking Engine or the POS module; having one is enough. Viewing requires the floor-plan view permission.

Prerequisites

A saved floor-plan layout must exist for the restaurant before statuses can be shown.

Common tasks

Read a table status: the color and label on each table show its current state.
Follow service: watch tentative tables turn occupied as guests are seated.

Screen and field reference

Each table carries one of four statuses:

Available — the table is free and can be assigned.
Occupied — the table is currently in use by seated guests or an open order.
Tentative — the table is held by an upcoming or pending booking but not yet seated.
Selected — the table you have highlighted for the action you are about to take.

Warnings and important constraints

Statuses reflect live data and can change as bookings and orders update. Viewers see the same statuses as everyone else but in read-only mode.

Troubleshooting guidance

If a table shows no status, confirm the floor-plan layout is saved and that you have either the Booking Engine or the POS module active.
