Manage bookings

What this feature is for

The Bookings screen is where you track every reservation for the active restaurant: who is coming, when, for how many guests, and the current status of each booking.

Who can use it

Owners, Admins, and Staff can view and act on bookings. Viewers can read the list but cannot make changes.

Availability and required module/permission

Bookings require the Booking Engine module. Creating, updating, and confirming bookings require the matching permission; cancelling or refusing is limited to Owner and Admin.

Prerequisites

If your restaurant confirms bookings manually, new reservations arrive as pending confirmation and must be confirmed explicitly.

Common tasks

  • Create a booking: open the list and use New booking.
  • Confirm a pending booking: open the booking and choose Confirm.
  • Change a status: use the status control on the booking detail (seated, completed, cancelled).

Buttons and statuses

A confirmed booking is shown more prominently than a pending one. Cancelled, refused, and completed bookings stay in history unless you filter them out.

Warnings and important constraints

Payment status is driven by the backend; you never set it by hand. Internal notes are never sent to guests.

Troubleshooting guidance

If a booking cannot be confirmed, check the table capacity and the restaurant lead-time rules for the requested time.
